Changing the World - One Carbon Footprint at a Time

Spring 2009

This unit was inspired by my fourth graders that I taught in my practicum this semester.  My students were very knowledgeable about the terms global warming and carbon footprints, but they did not think that they contributed to the pollution of our earth.  I was a little concerned about their responses and thus created a unit that asks: How do the choices that we make everyday effect our surrounding environment?  What can we do both individually and collaboratively to reduce our carbon footprints?

Below is a list of my lessons and my unit outline.  Enjoy!
