Sustainability Rubric

     Together, we created a rubric in which to evaluate each lesson as well as each unit as a whole. See our rubric below.


                         Sustainability Rubric

This scale should be used to assess each of the specific issues addressed below.  The following should guide in understanding what quality is expected for each number:

1-      Incomplete

a.       Where is it?  There is no trace of consideration for this aspect.

2-      Not-Yet Proficient

a.       It is part of the unit, but is vague or lacks substance. 

3-      Proficient

a.       Is clearly stated and accomplished.

4-      Exemplary

a.       Is distinctly met and defined.  Went above what was expected.

 

Unit Fundamentals

Each lesson addresses at least one standard from each of the following:

1.)     UW-Madison Teacher Standards

2.)     MMSD Standards

3.)     Wisconsin DPI Social Studies Standards

Each lesson’s objectives are clearly stated, age-appropriate, and visibly present in the procedure. Objectives can be distinctly linked to the unit’s “big ideas.”

Lessons demonstrate consideration for the multiple intelligences by varying the format of content learning, instruction, and assessment (i.e.- visual, auditory, bodily-kinesthetic, etc.).
